Elche provides the first stop. Elche is the main shoe and leather producer in Spain. With careful shopping many 'designer' bargains can be brought particularly from the 'factory' outlets  .

Alicante is described opposite

On the route from Elche to Alicante you will pass by many quiet lovely beaches which are not on the main tourist scene.

Traffic in Alicante can be heavy and fast. Some of the underground garages will not accept motorcycles but parking for bikes can usually be easily found on the streets. 

Allow a full day for the full tour.

The 'shopping ride'

Alicante is an amazing place. You can visit the castle with its superb views and an ever changing art display.

You can visit the archeological museum which has recently been voted the best in Europe (the displays are in English as well as Spanish)

You can sit by the large Marina or walk around the many shops stopping at numerous bars and cafes.

It is an ever changing experience and one which could easily take more than a day to see everything.
